Hello, my name is Paula Sanchez, and I’m the founder of It Doesn’t Make Scents. I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, though I'm originally from Southern California. After working as a registered nurse for 25 years, I recently retired and found myself drawn to creating something meaningful and personal.
Why Candles
As someone who loves the calming ambiance of candles but struggles with overpowering scents that often trigger sneezing or migraines, I was inspired to develop a solution. That’s how It Doesn’t Make Scents was born — a line of lightly scented candles designed for those who are sensitive to strong fragrances.
We use organic soy wax and clean scents, all Made in the USA!
Family
This venture is especially meaningful because I started it with my daughter, Amanda. She loves rich fragrances, while I’m much more sensitive, so creating these candles has become a special way for us to connect and find common ground. Our goal is to offer a happy medium — beautifully crafted, lightly scented candles that can be enjoyed by everyone in the home.
